Our Story

Flavors of Puebla and Mexico City.

Welcome to Cafe Ynez!
We were born of the desire for great food with healthy options for the Point Breeze and Graduate Hospital neighborhoods, as well as the staff, members, and clients of NextFab Studio – whose building we occupy.
Our executive chef, Gabriel Romero, brings the flavors of his Mexican home to our Philly neighborhood.
Mornings begin with Mexican pastries and espresso drinks, or try our Cafe de Olla and cemitas – fresh sesame rolls with queso fresco, eggs, refried beans, guacamole, and pickled jalapeño.

We serve soups, salads, cemitas, and rotisserie chicken all day long. We also have mixers to be paired with your favorite spirit. We’re a BYOB! While enjoying your breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, or snack, take a look at our interior! Our NextFab neighbors built and upholstered the benches, fabricated and applied all the paneling, and printed the fabulous photos that were taken by NextFab member and internationally-known artist, Miguel Horn, and by photographer Craig Lovell.
